Taylor Guerrieri, who was the 24th pick in last year’s draft, was scheduled to make the start last night for the Hudson Valley Renegades, but was scratched when he felt “discomfort in his arm” (via poughkeepsiejournal.com)…
“He had some generalized soreness and some stiffness,” Renegades manager Jared Sandberg said after the game, “so we were just acting out of caution right now, and he’ll be re-evaulated tomorrow.”
Let’s hope it is nothing serious, but “soreness” often turns into something more serious with the Rays.
It would have just been Guerrieri’s third start as a pro. In his first two starts, he allowed just 1 run in 10 innings on 7 hits. He has struck out 12 and walked just 1.
