The Rays announced today that they have Designated Hideki Matsui (松井-秀喜) for assignment to make room on the active roster for Ryan Roberts, whom the Rays acquired in a trade from the Diamondbacks last night. The Rays now have ten days to trade Matsui, release him, or place him on waivers. If he clears waivers, he could accept a minor league assignment, but that seems unlikely at this point.

and on the other side of the state. the marlins have a brand new stadium, and yet they are having another classic fire sale.

watch the attendance in that place completely fall off the map in the next two years after dropping all their top talent.

this years payroll was all for show, and to generate ticket sales. the problem lies in their manager or lack thereof. the front office allowed a quality manager get run off by the superstar, then trades the superstar? huh? nice move, but hey you got your stadium and you said that you could care less if anyone showed.
