Playing A Little Pepper

The Mets are protesting the ruling yesterday on BJ Upton’s infield single in hopes of getting a no-hitter for RA Dickey. Was it really a hit?

At the very least, it was going to be a bang-bang play at first base. And even though we can’t see where Upton was, we know this because David Wright chose to barehand the ball. And if Wright knew he had to rush, how is the official scorer supposed to assume it would have been an out?…IT WAS THE RIGHT CALL
