Joe is back with his post-game thoughts…

With the sting of yesterday’s defeated yanked from the jaws of victory, it seemed the Rays were up for a similar fate today. Hellboy has one bad inning — ONE! And the way the punchless Rays offense has been of late, a one-run deficit seemed to much to overcome.

Then SRod goes all Albert Pujols! His two-run blast into the parking lot over Fenway’s billboard of a left field wall put the Rays up for good and pulled the Ray into a tie for first place in the AL East.

Yes, Crooked Cap was his old self today, damned near dominating to chase the bitter Boston fans out of Fenway.

Joe can swill his ale with glee tonight. The Rays won a series at Fenway. No matter what the BlowSux are doing, this is a good thing!

Sorry Cork, hate grammar police you but this one is 3rd grade.

“a one-run deficit seemed to much to overcome.”

Think you mean, “too much to overcome”

I think you meant to say “I hate to grammar police you”, but I don’t really think you hate it at all.

This isn’t Cork’s post, and the author, “Joe Rays Fan”, does not, from what I’ve seen, spend too much time worrying about the quality of his writing.

Now we gotta keep on the upward climb!! Gotta go beyond 10 games over .500 & start working on 15, then 20, etc. Noticed we had similar problem w/this either in ’11 or ’10. Hope it starts by sweeping the ChiSox!! :D

S-Rod has quitely put together a very good couple of weeks here. No doubt in the 9th. Maybe, just maybe, he is the answer for a while. He was also robbed of a homer in the 7th inning by that ridiculous wall. If you ever want evidence that Fenway is far more of an arbitrary factor in deciding games than the Trop’s roof-system, look at the 7th inning yesterday. S-Rod’s blast would have been a homer in any other park; instead he was probably out at 2nd. Gonzalez’s HR was an out in every other park. He was beat on the pitch. That place is a joke; but good to see the Rays take the series. That is a gut punch to the BoSox, and undid all of their momentum from Saturday night.

  4. Agree with Fenway having a lot to do with deciding games. Gonzales homer would have been a foul ball at the Trop, but Srod was safe at 2nd. Good call there.
