Joe is back with his postgame thoughts….
Ah, brooms. What a sight, what a game, what a win, what a series.
The opening month is a hellish minefield for the Rays. To get a series sweep, especially over AL West power Los Angeles/Anaheim, is damned impressive.
So is Andrew Friedman. A week after picking up Brandon Allen off the scrap heap, the guy has been a major impact already, highlighted by his two-run blast to right for the game-winner today, bailing out a tough-luck Matt Moore who was on the hook for a loss despite pitching well.
Shoot, it seems like a different player steps up big for the Rays each night. If it isn’t a pitcher shutting down the opposition, it’s a different bat.
That’s the sign of a special team.

ANother drunken Party at the Trop on Thur Afternoon and home by 5:00pm does it get any better?…Brandon Allen mayor of St. pete if hes still alive after the beaten he took after crossing Home Plate
Really happy for Brandon. So thought this was going to be Matt Moore’s breakout game – soooooo close. Maybe next game?
Kinda makes ya wonder @ the Matsui signing, huh? That is, if it’s still happening. The Rays’ Brain Trust sure do have a knack for finding the right piece of the puzzle even before most of us know there’s a hole
They sure hit it Outta da Park on Allen!!!
