Earlier today we got a sneak peek at the Rays’ 2012 promotional schedule. One of the items we were looking forward to was the Don Zimmer “Zim Bear.” Well, here it is. You guys decide: cute or scary? Also, the Evan Longoria walk-off figurine is below…

  1. KillaTapes says:

Both are super cool in their own unique way! Would love to have the walk-off figure, I still get goosebumps when they replay those moments on the MLB channel and whatnot

  2. Alex says:

    Wow that is creepy

  3. Patrick says:

    Ummm…… Wow… just wow….

  4. J 2.0 says:

The Walk off figurine is ok, but that Zimmer bear is beyond creepy. Some kid wakes up in he middle of the night with that thing looking at them in the face. Better get out the rubber sheets.

  5. AJ says:

Never get it wet, never expose it to direct sunlight and NEVER EVER feed it after midnight.

  6. Norm says:

Every Red Sox fan should get a Evan Longoria game 162 walkoff figurine, as well as the entire Red Sox roster from 2011 free of charge.

  7. John C. says:

The Zim Bear? I love it! I’ll take two! If you don’t like it you must be a Red Sox fan!

  8. Rumpy says:

It looks like an Ewok from Star Wars

  9. Zim the Creepy Bear says:

I’d rather have Eva Longoria bobbin’ on my head, walking off, then running home.

  10. Greg says:

The Zim Bear appears to have been made by ripping the face off a cute teddy bear and replacing it with an septuagenarian. As far as the figurine…I think they use one generic model for every single one. Couldn’t that also be any Latin or African-American player too?

  11. s says:

the rays have two articles on the front page of yahoo this morning. nice job cork!!!!!!!!!

  12. marinerfan says:

The Mariners did this with Edgar Martinez. I still have my Edgar bear.

  13. Yankee Fan52 says:

Someone should send one of those to Pedro “Who’s Your Daddy” Martinez ;-)

  14. Dave L says:

    national media figure(s) mocks rays…..

    so what else is news

The hell with them and their opinions.

I was on the fence but now I love the Zim Bear!

the trick of every cheap giveaway with facial features is actual resemblence to the real person and this one nails it. I hope it looks as good in real as it does in promo pics

  15. Cork Gaines says:

Good points. The face is spot-on. And that’s probably why we only see the side-view of Longoria. It already appears that it looks nothing like Longo.
