According to a local news station, Port Charlotte Sherrif detectives have arrested a Port Charlotte man in connection with the robbery of the spring home of Evan Longoria, David Price, and Reid Brignac. This was the robbery in which Longoria had his AK-47 stolen (via WINK News).

Following a lengthy investigation, detectives arrestedSteven Charles Vaughn, 22, 866 Chevy Chase Street, and charged him with Armed Burglary of an Unoccupied Dwelling, Grand Theft and Dealing in Stolen Property. Vaughn was arrested in his Charlotte County Jail cell this morning where he is incarcerated on unrelated charges.

While the baseball players were at a spring training game in nearby Charlotte Stadium, thieves got into their home at 22159 Fernwood Street and stole $60,000 worth of items including numerous electronics, watches, jewelry and an AK-47.

This is his tenth booking into the Charlotte County Jail with 52 records. Detectives say the investigation is ongoing and active and no other details are being released at this time.

So, either Port Charlotte names its streets after suburban Maryland communities, or after middling 1980s comedians.

  2. How do they charge him with 'armed' burglary if no one was home to say he had a gun? Of course, since this is his 10th time getting caught, he may just have been dumb enough to tell the cops he had a gun when he did it.
