If you want the latest news and rumors, keep checking back here throughout the day. As we hear trade rumors, we will add them below. We will keep the most recent on top. If something really juicy comes along, we will give that its own post. But all the other stuff will go here.

Also, if you see or hear something that we haven’t reported yet, feel free to leave it in the comments and we will check it out.

Let’s go…

[9:30am] Hunter Pence was traded to the Phillies last night. And while there are several outfielders still available, BJ Upton is now the best remaining piece on the market.

Even though the Phillies no longer need an outfielder, there are still six other teams (Nationals, Royals, Indians, Pirates, Reds, Braves) that have been reported to have some interest in Upton. Is it a coincidence that almost all of the teams are in the NL?

Ken Rosenthal says the Braves are still interested in Upton, but they sem to have interest in several other outfielders also. So it would see that they will probably find a better deal elsewhere.

And if it means anything, both Joe Maddon and BJ Upton — neither of whom are named Andrew Friedmandon’t see a trade happening.

Still, at this point, we would be surprised if Upton was still with the Rays on Monday.

So... not much on the hysteria around here, it would seem.

After yesterday's stinker, who would really want Upton anyways? Not me if I was a GM. Seven swings and one lazy fly, 2 k's. I know he is a "professional" and all, but his at-bats have been crap the last week or so (more than usual) and one has to wonder if he has tanked it so he couldn't be traded. Maybe he knew all along he wasn't going anywhere for that reason. And the way he galloped after the ball in the gap in the 6th was sick. Dude still needs to grow WAY up in baseball terms.
