Desmond Jennings ready for the majors after last night’s 3-5 with 2 stolen bases? Need to add Jennings significantly before July 7th because they play the red sox and yankess 11 straight games!

Need to add one of the catchers at AAA and subtract Shoppach as well!

Des! Des!? We need you Des! How doesn’t Des help us now in left and leading off, 2 of our bigger holes? Come on allready!

As reported before it doesn’t seem that Longo seems to be much of an “impact” player for the Rays..
Now SI has a article coming out (as reported by ESPN NY)
LONGO is the 15th most over rated player in baseball as voted by his peers (the players)…. surprised??? BJ was #7 but we have known that for years!

your comments about longoria are always negative. Jealous or what. He
is good for the team and they have been a much better team since he’s been there. Does”t have a huge contract and plays hard.

      HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Hold on…. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA… I. Can’t. Stop. Laughing. HAHAHAHAHAHA

5th highest wOBA among 3rd baseman since the start of 2008. The guys above him are A-rod, Chipper, Bautista, and Youkilis. He has the highest WAR total among all third basemen. There is only a couple guys who even come close to his defensive talent. He ranks near the top in any stat you could ever think of. I know you don’t know what wOBA is, or even WAR, but know that it means I’m glad we have such an overrated player on this team.

Let’s not forget that he turns 26 in October.

Let’s see that same poll giving to the managers or the GMs. I’d bet you anything that he is at the bottom of that list.

      • Don says:

Just quoting the facts…the “players”…. his competitors… feel he is overrated…..that…he is not threating to them….
and I feel the Rays record when he is out of the line up goes a long way..to back up THEIR claims…
But if I was an 18 yo single girl I would feel differently…
Me I’m Going to wait to see how he performs the rest of the year and if that nasty flu gets him Again…

        • Derek says:

HAHAHA. Yes, the three years of winning and two AL east titles have nothing to do with him. I couldn’t care less about his competitors, as most barely made it our of high school.

        • mary says:

I hope most goods teams can win games without one player, but he has played well every year he has been there and defensively he has always played great. One of the best third basemen in the league He’s got almost a million votes for the all star game and he’s been out 1/2 the season.Seems people get all upset because a player is hurt or sick. Cant help those things. Which players voted on that overrated anyways .

        • Stephanie says:

The “facts” are that fewer than 200 players voted so most of Longo’s peers didn’t feel this was even worth their time. At most he only got a few votes.

Fact: there are several future HOFers on this list.
