JP Howell came on in the seventh inning, making just his second appearance for the Rays since 2009. In a one-run game, with a runner on base, Howell got Alex Avila to ground into a huge double-play to end the inning.

As Howell was walking off the field, he appeared to be yelling in a very animated fashion, in the direction of Avila. And just as the camera is cutting away, we can see Howell…ummm…”adjust” himself.

A message for Avila? Innocent adjustment? Or just The Dude being The Dude? You be the judge…

Had Avila done anything to merit this “message?”

No idea. But I have no idea why he was yelling in that direction either. He looked like he was “taunting.” but maybe he was just really excited and just happened to be looking in that direction. The whole thing was just weird because I don’t recall ever seeing that much emotion out of Howell (good or bad)

He tries that BS with the wrong guy someday (meant or not)..the little skinny Ca. boy will be back on the DL

He was def giving the universal “suck it” gesture. Love having some swagger on our team, we need a little bit of that.

    Yeah, it looks bad

But he can also be looking towards 1B, pumped up about the DP, trying to wake them up.

Pretty good, JP. Still doesn’t beat Grant Balfour’s “SIT THE FUCK DOWN”, but pretty good.
