The GBT – The Good, The Bad and The Telling sandwich, where The Bad is nice and lean and the The Telling is ripe.

THE GOOD: Rained Out In Motown. This means one less Andy Sonnanstine start will count in the Rays’ final record. The game will be made up on June 13 which was on off-day between a series in Baltimore and a home series against the Red Sox.

THE BAD: Jeff Faine. I don’t have a problem with Jeff Faine skipping Josh Freeman’s workouts. I do have a problem with Faine using Freeman’s workouts as an opportunity to spew NFLPA propoganda. And that is all these comments are. It is Faine saying the workouts are not a substitute for the real thing. And there is no real thing because the owners have shut the league down. In the end, Faine, who is the Bucs rep in the NFLPA, is causing his own team more harm than he is helping the players’ union.

THE TELLING: The Rays picked up pitcher Jay Buente off waivers from the Marlins and assigned him to triple-A. To make room on the 40-man roster, Rob Delaney has been designated for assignment...Elliot Johnson was placed on the DL, with Reid Brignac activated from the bereavement list to fill the roster spot…This was the Rays third postponed game of the year…

  1. Greg says:

Will the game be restarted or do they pick it up from where they left off?

    • Cork Gaines says:

Restarted from the beginning. So none of the stats from yesterday will count.

      • Beth says:

What determines whether a game is resumed at the point where the rain started, or started from the beginning?

        • Cork Gaines says:

A game called for weather would only be resumed if they had completed 5 (or more) innings tied or the visiting team took the lead and the home team hadn’t batted yet that inning. there might be some other exceptions, but typically, if the game is called before the end of the 5th, they’ll just start over.

Re: The Worldwide Leader – your first problem is taking a Page 2 article (or a Jim Caple article, for that matter) seriously. ;)

  3. Don says:

I’M beginning to feel sorry for ole Andy…Maddon keeps putting him out there to be eaten by the lions.. sorta like what happened to the christians..but Maddon seems to enjoy the “entertainment”

  4. Gus says:

News on Neiman’s injury? Typically, he’d be on some kind of rehab schedule by now.

Loved the Hay bowling video. Add those anytime. He seems to have gotten the better of Erica. Not too difficult. She doesn’t appear to be very bright.
