The Rays today announced that they have signed Joe Inglett to a minor league deal. Inglett is a utility man that played outfield and second base for the Brewers in 2010. In 102 games, he hit .254 with a .331 OBP and 1 home run. He has a career .345 OBP in 313 games.
Interestingly, Inglett was used as a relief pitcher by the Brewers last year. Rays do need some help in the bullpen*. In one appearance, he pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Five of his six pitches were strikes.
*I’m partially joking

Good signing, He may end up platooning with Sean Rod.
He was annoying when he used to come to bat against the Rays. Good sign.

Yep, he’s a Ray alright…
The man reaks of roster filler. At this point, he needs to out play Felipe Lopez just to compete with Elliot Johnson and I think unless both Johnson and Lopez get hurt, he is Durham bound. Even then, a trade wouldn’t shock me.
