i was working on my “Chart of the Day” feature over at Business Insider and was trying something new, a word cloud (created using Wordle.net). And I thought it would be fun to see what it would look like over here.

So here are all 43 players that have played at least 200 games with the Rays. The size of their names is relative to how many games they have played. Carl Crawford, with the largest name, has played the most games ever in a Rays uniform (1,235). Aubrey Huff is next at 799. BJ Upton leads all active players with 667 games as a member of the Rays.

Awesome chart. Jonny Gomes, Damian Rolls, and Quinton McCracken! Three of my all-time favorite Devil Rays. How sad is it that Damon Hollins made the list? I can’t believe he actually managed to play that many games in the major leagues. Bob (Bobby?) Smith, Russ “Devil Hater” Johnson, Kevin Stocker…so many names I haven’t heard in a while.

There are also a lot of bad memories associated with the names on this chart. I mean wasn’t Travis Lee our best player at one point? It really shows how far this team has come.

Cool, Fun, yet sad all at the same time.

The biggest name on “chart” is the only one that hurts…another 1200 games….. then the hall of fame…..as a Boston Red Sox…Great!

I remember how much everyone loved yelling out Bubba Trammell’s name… BUBBBAAAAAAAAA!!!

That’s when that’s all you had to route for. Hopefully Longo will top Carl’s servicetime with the rays.
