With tonight’s deadline looming, the Rays have yet to sign their top pick, Josh Sale or their supplemental pick Drew Vettleson. If the Rays fail to sign Sale, they will receive a comparable pick in the 2011 draft.

We will keep you updated if we hear any signing news today for Sale or Vettleson. In the meantime, be sure to check out the 2010 Draft Signing Board over at Rays Prospects for the complete list of draft picks and their signing status.

  1. Joe D. says:

Mlb.com had a story, today or yesterday, that both noted on their facebook accounts that they were flying in to St. Petersburg for today. That’s got to be a good sign that they and the Rays intend on coming to terms.

  2. Gatorbuc15 says:

God please make these guys sign! For the Rays to remain successful in the future, their top draft picks must sign with them!

  3. Beth says:

I just don’t get the upside of not signing. With the exception of high school students who are weighing college offers, what good can come of refusing to sign?

  4. Hal says:

I get the feeling that the Rays would be fine either way – next year’s draft is viewed by many as the deepest in years and we have allready been hording picks (or will be hording picks once free agency hits).
