We are not sure how noticeable this was on the Rays broadcast Friday night, but it was hard not to notice on the Yankees broadcast. Behold the wonder of the lone erect goatee whisker…

And the best part is, you know his teammates saw that and didn’t say anything. Can you imagine what that would have looked like earlier in the season when Garza wasn’t trimming that thing?

But what we are really hoping for, is that Andy Sonnanstine makes the proper adjustment to Garza’s bobblehead graphic on the outfield wall.

  1. Leighroy says:

It was VERY noticeable on the Rays broadcast, lol. I got a good laugh out of it during the game. By the way, I don’t think anyone spits more than Garza either. This dude pitches like a hero, but sure looks like a goat!

  2. MikeD says:

that thing bugged me – it was mesmerizing

  3. Don says:

Garza has the grooming of a mental patient, and the personal preoccupation of someone who doesn’t care what you think….as the spitting would testify….

  4. Gatorbuc15 says:

I don’t mind the spitting, but the erect whisker HAS TO GO!

Matt, do us and yourself a favor and shave the NIGHTMARE off.

  5. Brett says:

The way he’s pitching lately, he can have whatever he wants growing on his chin. Honestly though, that thing sticks out far enough to where it should be visible to him.

  6. stunna says:

Yeah, I noticed it multiple times

  7. slacker775 says:

I figured that it was intentional. If it was bothering us viewers so much, batters had to be distracted by it as well.

  8. Aaron says:

I saw it, I wanted to reach through the TV and pluck it.

  9. Aaron says:

    And this was Saturday night.

  10. Connie says:

Maybe it’s his version of letting his goatee grow so he wins the bet with his teammates…but so it doesn’t bother him as much

Has Sonny done any artwork to the Matt Garza bobblehead yet?

  11. JR says:

Everyone has it all wrong. That whisker is his speacial weapon!! It’s his feelers, he can read the batters mind when its pointed towards them…I hope Bud Selig doesnt catch on and start testing for this new kind od PED
