One of our tipsters sent in this pic of one of the official shuttle buses that take fans from downtown St. Pete to Tropicana Field (thanks Nick)…
Really, a shuttle from St Pete to the Trop, it’s like less than a mile. Where’s the shuttle bus from Orlando to the Trop, I don’t care if it says, Rays or Devil Rays.
I don’t know which bothers me more: the incorrect team name or the incorrect use of a possessive apostrophe.
The latter, of course, but maybe it used to say “Devil Ray’s Very Own Shuttle” or something and the bottom half fell off?
I though about that. I think even then it would need to be ” Devil Rays’ “.
You are correct, sir. In a plural possessive, the apostrophe goes at the end.
The way the sign reads, the bus belongs to a single member of the species manta birostris.
Don’t know about the spelling…but another proof positive the community is really behind “their” team !
