A year ago during the All-Star game, Carl Crawford robbed Brad Hawpe of a home run. He would go on to win the All-Star game MVP award based in large part on that catch.
Last night, with Benjie Molina leading off the 7th inning, he drove the ball to left field. Crawford ran back to the wall and leaped in a manner that was very reminiscent of his All-Star grab. There was only one small problem…
Somehow this is BJ Upton’s fault.

He was more interested in scaling the wall than catching the ball. He and Zobrist both, took their eyes off the ball as they neared the wall.
Poor Carl looked kind of foolish on that one. See, Yankees -- he's really not that great -- don't sign him!!
He was so far off I was wondering for a minute if the ball deflected off the bottom of one of the catwalks. I guess not, I guess he was just way off.
He either took his eye off the ball or he really needs perscription eye glasses. Because that was pathetic!
It looked like he assumed it was going out and he took his eyes off the ball before he even hit the warning track. Fail.
It worked...it wasn't a home run..Carl move the wall back by kicking it 6"...way to go CC!
Sure, that makes sense! If theTrop was Willy Wonkas chocolate factory! Then I could see that as plossible idea.
I second the Catwalk thought, Michael...I thought they were going to go in and take a look at it for a minute there...Glad they didn't!!!
I blame Chuck LaMar.
Agreed....definetly all BJ's fault.
