Maddon Is Committed To The Stirrups

A wise man once said, “never f*** with a winning streak.” Ok, so the Rays winning streak is only one. But every great winning streak must start somewhere. And the end of the Rays recent three-game slide coincided with the debut of the striped stirrups.
So it is great news (via Roger Mooney) to hear that Joe Maddon will wear his ‘rups again tonight…
“My socks (stirrups) will be there (today),” he said. “I am making a commitment to the sock.”
Let’s just hope the players follow his lead.

I absolute love the stirrups and hope that they are a permanent uniform feature regardless. They are neat and exceptionally professional. It is the ultimate for a ballplayer to show their sock. Next is to put TAMPA BAY on their road uniforms and they will be set.

These striped socks are starting to grow on me, they add some serious flavor.
And now we’re no-hit.
Eschew the socks and what happens: guys get no hit. Congratulations to EJ. Always thought he’d be the first Ray to throw a no-hitter — he had several starts where he had no-hit stuff (one in Aniheim and one in Texas I think).
