“Twelve Angry Mascots” is a “sports-comedy variety talk show” in NYC that we have had the pleasure of seeing a couple of time. And they are the geniuses behind this video discussing the struggles of big leaguers that make the league minimum, and starring the Rays very own Fernando Perez.

It’s official. ‘Nando Calrissian is now our favorite Rays and as soon as we are done typing this sentence we are ordering a #38 jersey.

OMG, this is great! He’s a natural!

    • That was definitely my first impression

The funny thing, too, it’s not just how good he was in the piece. This was an incredibly well produced skit. I love a good bit of satire — this looks like it could have been taken right out of a Saturday Night Live episode from the good ol’ days.

Here’s the dilemma — I want him to succeed with the Rays because who doesn’t want someone with his wit and intelligence to stick around? But if he fails as a player, will that hasten his move into full time writing and acting, so we can see gems like this more often? Whoever came up with the line about Longoria using “sustainable pine tar” — don’t know if it was Perez or the producers of the video — should win a prize.

  4. You guys probably figured ths out, but just in case…Modell’s is a large sporting goods chain in NYC

But wait….now that he’s been cut, does he still get the MLB minimum? If not, good thing he got that real estate license….
