Well we finished the second half of the Sunburst PoG Pick ‘Em with a tie. Killa Tapes came from behind with his Jeff Niemann selection on Saturday night. As a result, both Killa Tapes and DRR will take home a t-shirt from the Rays Index Store for their efforts (just send us an email to the Tips inbox with the style, size and mailing address).

As for the Rays, 25 different players received Pimp Daddy honors at least once this season.  Not surprisingly, the leaderboard looks much like you would expect with Dirtbag and Zorilla sitting on top. A little surprising is Bossman coming in fourth despite his struggles all year. But it just goes as a reminder that when Bossman is on, he is as exciting a player in the game and still very much a game-changer. The top pitcher was the the Giraffe.

Thanks to everybody for playing. It was a lot of fun.

I think Gabe Kapler winning more than Pat Burrell kinda sums up a lot of this season!

Off-topic: who’s everyone rooting for in the Twins-Tigers showdown tonight? I’m thinking the Twins are going to finish off the miracle comeback even though I’d rather the Tigers win since I think the Tigers match up better with the Yankees.

    • KillaTapes says:

It’s funny, I had said earlier in the season that I would root for the Tigers if the Rays were eliminated, just based on the economic struggles there and everything. But over the last few weeks I found myself rooting for the Twins to comeback, and I don’t know why. Maybe it has to do with the Tigers starting the Rays terrible losing streak?

Either way, I hope whoever it is can upset those damn Yankees!

  2. Beth says:

I feel exactly the same way…Twins are sentimental favorites (and how cruel would it be for a team to twice in a row have one of these sudden death extra games and twice lose?) But I worry that Twins don’t have the dominant couple of starting pitchers who can win a short series. And ultimately, it’s all about embarrassing the Yankees and Red Sox, right?

  3. Andy Kline says:

    Congrats to the winners.

And my little brother tied for fourth, nice.

And I tied for 22nd after getting 2nd in the first half (I wasn’t really trying this half though).

I can’t wait for next year.

As far as the playoffs go, I will be rooting for the Phillies because most of family is from near Philly, and most of them are Phillies fans. Please don’t hate me. I would definitely root for the Rays if they were in the playoffs.
