We can't seriously get rid of Upton, can we? Do I read the Cork Board correctly that we still control him for 4 years? That seems too long. I think you have to at least try to build him up to a valuable trade piece.

Well, I'd like to see BJ Upton....hitting like he did in last year's playoffs. Is that an option?

I am madly in love with Perez but he'll never be a great hitter. Perfect to have him on your team for spot starts, pinch running, and generally boosting the average IQ. Jennings sounds like a great prospect but no guarantees he'll be a top-flight major leaguer, and why not give him a full year in AAA to let him develop?

  3. Chris says:

Why do people always talk about building value up? What happens if it continues and the player is still a liability to the team? When do you say enough and the current performance is the norm (2 years in a row) for the player going forward? Jennings and some prospect should easily outperform Upton in the next few years.
