Notes from Down on the Farm

  • Triangle Offense says Mitch Talbot may have missed his start with shoulder stiffness, but was unable to confirm…Chris Mason, a former starter was promoted a couple of days ago and his numbers in Montgomery hardly seemed worthy of the move. So it appears Mason was promoted to make this start and it looks as though this was a known issue with Talbot’s arm and not something that popped up during warm ups. [Triangle Offense]

  1. Brixology says:

How many days in a row has Beckham had an error? Is there a record that he's threatening?

    • probably, but I am sure that BJ Upton's mark from his days as a shortstop is safe.

And I remember a stretch in '07 when it seemed like Brignac was committing an error or two everyday for about a month.

  2. Adam Sobsey says:

Not clear whether Mason was promoted to Durham to spell Talbot in a spot start, or whether he's filling in for Dewon Day, who is on the 7-day DL with "forearm stiffness." Charlie Montoyo is generally tight-lipped about injuries.
