As a result of Elijah Dukes’ most recent run-in with the law, the Times was pulled from the kiosks at The Trop.

One year ago on Rays Index we recognized Jonny Gomes’ walk-up music, and let’s just say that it wasn’t in line with the family-friendly atmosphere promoted by the Rays. No wonder Gomes wasn’t listed on the Rays’ official list of walk-up songs.

Yankees Mariners BaseballDurham 8, Rochester 7. Making his first start with the Bulls, Matt DeSalvo allowed 3 runs in 4 innings…Matt Joyce was 0-2 with 3 walks…John Jaso was 0-4 and is now hitting .221.

Carolina 7, Montgomery 2. Heath Rollins is now 5-3 after giving up 5 runs in 5.2 innings on 10 hits and a walk…Rhyne Hughes was 2-4 and did not strike out…Desmond Jennings was 1-4 with a double. In his first dry patch of the season, Jennings is only 3-28 in his last 8 games to drop his average to .360.

Clearwater 10, Charlotte 1. Jesse Darcy dropped to 0-5 after allowing 6 runs in 5.1 innings…Greg Sexton hit his 3rd home run for the Stone Crabs.
