This gameday open thread will have two parts and it is all user-generated…
WIN TICKETS! Part 1 of the GBT open thread will be your predictions for the Sunburst Player of the Game.
- Use the comments section to predict who you think will be the Sunburst Player of the Game (be sure to use a valid email address while leaving the comment).
- Every morning in “The Hangover” we will pick the Sunburst Player of the Game.
- You can leave your selection anytime up until the first pitch of the game..
- The commenter that correctly picks the most Sunburst Players of the Game prior to the All-Star break will win Two (2) tickets to a Rays game in the second half of the season (if you do not live close enough to a game, you can instead choose Two (2) T-shirts from the Rays Index store.
- The commenters that finish with the second and third most correct choices will win their choice of a t-shirt from the Rays Index Store.
- In the event of any ties, we will play sudden death in the games immediately following the All-Star break.

Yep, that is a work in progress. Don’t want to force a bad nickname. Sometimes gotta let the player earn it.
Bad nicknames like; Iss-ring-em-up-housen, or Sh@!-house, or Matt Joy-stick, or Sir Lance-a-lot, or …

Ahhh….the sun is out (kinda), the beer is cold (in my fridge and not here), and work is boring as crap (as usual). Only means one thing…its baseball season! Welcome back everyone, and to all the newcomers, you’ve joined the best army of raysheads that spread across the entire US. How do I know this? Because I am currently writing this from Los Angeles.

also, im not watching the game, but on gamecast it seemed like they pitched bartlett low and away on every pitch. if this is true, someone needs to tell him to work on driving the ball to the opposite field cause he will see it all season
Good: Getting a run home with less than two outs and a man on 3rd. We had such a problem with that last year. Great to start out the year with Carl doing his job and getting Gross home.
