This gameday open thread will have two parts and it is all user-generated…

WIN TICKETS! Part 1 of the GBT open thread will be your predictions for the Sunburst Player of the Game.

  • Use the comments section to predict who you think will be the Sunburst Player of the Game (be sure to use a valid email address while leaving the comment).
  • Every morning in “The Hangover” we will pick the Sunburst Player of the Game.
  • You can leave your selection anytime up until the first pitch of the game..
  • The commenter that correctly picks the most Sunburst Players of the Game prior to the All-Star break will win Two (2) tickets to a Rays game in the second half of the season (if you do not live close enough to a game, you can instead choose Two (2) T-shirts from the Rays Index store.
  • The commenters that finish with the second and third most correct choices will win their choice of a t-shirt from the Rays Index Store.
  • In the event of any ties, we will play sudden death in the games immediately following the All-Star break.

Your GBTs. Part 2 of the GBT open thread will be your thoughts during that day’s game of what you think is The Good, The Bad and/or The Telling.

  • Every morning in “The Hangover” we give our thoughts on what we thought were the more important moments of the game from the day before and whether those moments were Good, Bad or Telling (something that teaches us about the players, coaches or the team).
  • The comments section on this post will be your chance to offer your thoughts on what the Good, Bad and Telling moments of the game are.

Why not some love for Crazy Carl Crawford? This is, after all, before his knees have a chance to betray him later in the season.

Prof, you still going to have Blog-a-Palooza for some games or is this going to be it for all the games?

Ahhh....the sun is out (kinda), the beer is cold (in my fridge and not here), and work is boring as crap (as usual). Only means one thing...its baseball season! Welcome back everyone, and to all the newcomers, you've joined the best army of raysheads that spread across the entire US. How do I know this? Because I am currently writing this from Los Angeles.

My big pimp daddy (starburst?) player of the game is gonna be CC. His wheels are going to have a major impact on this game.

Prof, I like the addition. Lets go rays!

    • Was going to bring it out as the "Pimp Daddy" but trying to keep it more family friendly. Small sacrifice.

Welcome back, cougar! Will this be the season that you reveal why you chose the name cougar or do I continue to picture you as a woman in her late 40s in high heels and big sunglasses?

i think papa joe read my last post to the team in between the 2nd and the 3rd

also, im not watching the game, but on gamecast it seemed like they pitched bartlett low and away on every pitch. if this is true, someone needs to tell him to work on driving the ball to the opposite field cause he will see it all season

Good: Getting a run home with less than two outs and a man on 3rd. We had such a problem with that last year. Great to start out the year with Carl doing his job and getting Gross home.

Greetings folks - left work to join you folks. My player of the day is Rocco Baldelli. (What? He's on the Sox? When did that happen?) Ok - since it is the 4th inning, I'll pass.

Prof, what is the beverage of the day??
