Two years ago on Rays Index we came to the conclusion that there was little chance of Toby Hall returning to the Rays after he declined the Rays minor league contract offer and responded by saying “That was funny…I guess it would be a minor-league contract because they’re a minor-league team.” We wonder if The Mouth still thought the Rays were a minor league team while he was watching the Rays celebrate their ALDS win on his home field, a series in which Hall couldn’t even get off the bench, or later when he was at home watching the Rays in the World Series.

One year ago on Rays Index, we learned that the Rays had signed Cliff Floyd to be the team’s DH and calming and influential father figure. Dr. Huxtable’s career with the Rays would end after 80 games, 11 home runs, 39 RBI and 43 kazillion billion trips to the DL.
