[THE SUNDAY MORNING REVOLUTION] Dirtbag Goes Yard Twice For Rays’ 29th Win

Carlos Pena, Willy Aybar No Comments »

DRG here again to get you through the weekend. I can be reached here..

The Good: Evan Longoria’s first 2-home run game, including a 3-run shot in the 1st inning of the tape-measure variety…BJ Upton just-missed 2 home runs of his own, going 4-4 with 2 doubles that hit off the top of the wall.

The Telling: The Rays are actually a game up on the Red Sox in the loss column…The Rays are 2.5 games ahead of the A’s in the Wild Card standings and 4 games ahead of Toronto. The Rays go for the sweep of the O’s today. The Rays have already swept the Red Sox, the Blue Jays and previously won 3 of 4 in a series against the Yankees. They are now 20-12 versus the AL East, while no other team in the division is above .500. Was trolling around the MLB.com team stats page this morning, and I can’t find one category in which the Rays are performing above their own heads. The only category they lead in the AL as a team is stolen bases, and even there, they also lead in caught stealing.
