Durham 5, Syracuse 4. Mitch Talbot had a rare strong outing for the Bulls last night. He pitched 6 innings and gave up 4 hits and 1 run. He struck out 5, but walked 3 and hit a batter. Seth McClung picked up his 3rd save despite walking 3 and allowing a run in 2 innings of work. He also allowed 2 inherited runners to score in the 8th inning.

Montgomery 4, Birmingham 3. Jonathon Barratt gave up 2 runs in 5.1 innings. He allowed 7 hits and 3 walks. Dale Thayer picked up his 7th save. Jason Pridie went hitless in 4 at bats to end his 17 game hitting streak. Reid Brignac was 0-3 and his average has fallen to .255. He is 2 for his last 27 at bats. Evan Longoria was 0-4.

Vero Beach 15, Lakeland 4. Big night for outfielder Sergio Pedroza. The 2005 3rd round pick that came over with Joel Guzman in the Julio Lugo deal hit 3 home runs and drove in 6. He was 4-5 and is now hitting .306 with 4 home runs on the season.Erold Andrus added 3 hits including his 6th home run. Wade Davis struck out 5 in 5 innings. He gave up 6 hits and 2 runs (1 earned).

Columbus 6, Charleston 3
. Jeremy Hellickson picked up his 2nd win with 5 innings of 2-run ball. He gave up 5 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 4. Nevin Ashley was 2-3 with 2 RBI.
