Boston 6, Toronto 3. Boston avoided a sweep by taking the series finally over the Jays, and maintain first place in the AL East. Red Sox’ closer Jonathon Papplebon unveiled his new look yesterday, reinforcing the age old theory that in order to be a good closer you have to be a little nuts.
New York 7, Baltimore 1. Randy Johnson rebounded from his last start to go 8 innings giving up 3 hits and just 1 run, for his 266th career win. Jason Giambi, who is as big as ever, hit two home runs, a double and 5 RBI.
